Better Late than Never!

Dyllon had told us that his P-Days would be on Friday's.  Well, the thing with the MTC is I think that they secretly want to drive Mother's crazy.  In reality you can never count on a schedule in the MTC.  It runs in a different realm than we live in.  When you are told your Missionary's P-Day is on a Friday what they really mean is give or take 48 hours in either direction.  Well, to make a long story short, I waited all day on Friday for an E-mail.  I know I said that I wouldn't, but I just could not help it.  I did however leave the computer for 1 1/2 hours to go and have lunch at Zupas with Dani for her birthday.  (mmmm....Zupas)

My Friday email never came.........Sad I know.  I was kinda depressed, but Kendall said; "Buck up little camper, at least you got a letter and an SD card today. And you get to talk with him on Tuesday when he leaves for Tennessee".  I know, but I wanted more!!!

I had accepted the reality that I would just hear from him on Tuesday.  He would remember our phone number right???  Gack!  I would have to send him a dearelder.com letter and make sure.  Anyway, on Saturday Kendall and I bought tickets to go to the Parade of Homes.  The kids would not be attending with us, as they were banned from ever going again about 10 years ago. Well, you will never guess what happened.  While we were pulling up to the 3rd house on our list. #19 a Garbett Home, my phone started buzzing that I got an email.  Now, this happens quite often and it is usually a groupon or some other kind of email.  Imagine my surprise when it was a reply to my earlier email to Dyllon.

Pwtt.......Parade of Homes.....derailed. I had more important things to attend to.  Just a side note, Kendall did not bring his phone and he expected me to share......gasp.  Note to Kendall, last time I am sharing, bring your own phone next time! Mom's just can't be expect to share in a time like this!

Hey Elder!

I am excited to hear from you this morning. I hope that you are having a fabo day. I have been really tired this morning. We got new pillows yesterday and I am going to have to hide dad's because he snored like a semi shifting gears all night. So naughty! I need deets on your flight! What time you fly out, maybe flight number. What time you might get at the airport. Remember to have your calling card in your wallet so you can call me from the airport. I have also wrote you a dear elder letter so you will get that later today. Love you!!!

Dyllon: Hey i'm on for about 30 minutes. sorry my P day got switched to today

Me: Hey

Dyllon: Hey, how's it going?

Me: How are you doing today, I received your letter yesterday!

Dyllon: Good, did you get the pictures?

Me:We are at the parade of homes I was super excited to see your email

Me:Yes we love them. Do you know what time you get to the airport on tuesday?

Dyllon: Did you guys get the pictures?? 

Dyllon: My flight leaves at 7:30 AM I have to report the the travel Office here at the MTC at 4 AM

Me: It is good to here that you are the mail winner.

Me: Do you need us to send anything?

Me: Call us from the airport as soon as you are able to. I will be up super early. Are you so excited to leave?

Dyllon: Yes, the MTC is fun but it becomes boring and repetitive towards the end. I'm ready to get out to Tennessee.

This is where Kendall makes me give the phone to him!  Hmmp!

Kendall: Hi dyllon its dad. Mom has been waiting anxiously to hear from you. Tell us if there is anything you need before you head out and we will get it to you on Monday.

Dyllon: How's everyone back home?

Kendall: Everyone is good. The girls are fighting a lot. Bingham won their first game against west jordan 28-0. Mom wonders if you have been able to do any temple names.

Dyllon: hey dad!

I don't really need anything. Update me on some sports. Has Denver played anymore Preseason? How's Fall camp for Utah and BYU? How's Bingham looking this year?

Kendall: Denver plays seattle tonight in the second pre season game. Jordan wynn has been sitting out because of a sore shoulder. Both the utes and byu are looking good. The rockies went on a four game win streak until last night.

Dyllon: Cool Let me know how denver plays tomorrow! I only have about a minute left so we gotta wrap this up! I love all of you guys and can't wait to get to Tennessee!

Me: Love you too talk to you tuesday.
